Dr. Michael A. Pikos attends the Academy of Osseointegration’s Silver Anniversary Summit: Impact of Biological and Technological Advances on Implant Dentistry, August 5 – 8, 2010, in Oak Brook, IL.

Dr. Michael A. Pikos, Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and Founder of Coastal Jaw Surgery - The Center for Dental Implants, Facial and Oral Reconstruction and the Pikos Implant Institute attended the Academy of Osseointegration’s Silver Anniversary Summit: Impact of Biological and Technological Advances on Implant Dentistry. This invitation only summit had approximately 100 clinicians in attendance. Participants were broken into four subsections: bioengineering, stem cell research, nanotechnology, and growth and differentiation factors and after reviewing research, literature and participating in presentations by leading experts outside of implant dentistry, they answered key questions in terms of future impact on clinical outcomes and research issues in implant dentistry. Dr. Pikos’ subsection was growth and differentiation factors.

In the field of oral implantology and implant dentistry, Dr. Pikos is both a clinician and educator. His scientific lectures and presentations of advanced live surgical courses over the past twenty years are part of an ongoing commitment to share his dental and surgical expertise both nationally and internationally.
