Dr. Michael A. Pikos Chosen for Cover of Seattle Study Club Magazine

PALM HARBOR, FL –World renowned oral maxillofacial surgeon and educator Michael A. Pikos, DDS, was chosen to grace the cover of the Seattle Study Club Journal, a publication issued to some the most highly respected dentists and dental specialists in the world.

 

Dr. Pikos initiated the Seattle Club Chapter in north Pinellas County in 1991, calling the chapter the Pinnacle Study Club. There are three chapters in the Tampa Bay Area. Dr. Pikos’ chapter has grown to over 64 members and includes the north Pinellas, Pasco and Hernando counties.

 

The Seattle Study Club network includes over 220 study clubs worldwide. Each club meets monthly to update members on the latest advances in technology and treatment. Doctors share new techniques and ways to better serve their patients. They also collaborate on difficult cases so that their patients are the beneficiaries of solutions from a team of knowledgeable clinicians in our community.

 

The Seattle Study Club is recognized as one of the most advanced and exciting dental continuing education groups today. In fact, many doctors regard it as a true “university without walls.” Building on the traditional study club model, Seattle Study Clubs add original and more powerful programming to maximize member interest. Seattle Study Club programs will engage and challenge members in a safe and non-threatening educational environment.

 

The Pinnacle Study Club’s focus this year is to continue to be on comprehensive interdisciplinary treatment planning with special emphasis on Cone Bean Computerized Tomography as a foundational base. The commitment to 3D imaging began some 6+ years ago and is based on “anatomic truth as it exists in vivo”. Visualization and analysis of 3D information benefits dental practices by providing data that will improve diagnosis, risk assessment, treatment outcome, treatment efficiency, and reduce complications.

In addition to being an educator to dentists around the world, Dr. Pikos maintains Coastal Jaw Surgery practice along with three other doctors and a staff of 40. Coastal Jaw has offices in Palm Harbor, Trinity and Spring Hill.

 

Dr. Pikos has performed thousands of surgical procedures including more than 13,000 dental implants. He is an innovator and has introduced various techniques in advancing dental implantology over the years.
