Core Curriculum Overview

This comprehensive course explores the Pikos Institute's bone grafting philosophy and protocols, utilizing a sophisticated 3D digital diagnostic approach for predictable augmentation outcomes. The curriculum, firmly rooted in scientific principles, presents seven key algorithms that form the foundation for reliable bone grafting success. Through detailed examination of bone graft biology and wound healing processes, participants gain deep understanding of the principles driving effective bone grafting in clinical practice.

The program provides extensive coverage of graft material selection and application, comparing -autografts, allografts, xenografts, and alloplasts to support clinical decisions in a wide range of bone grafting procedures. Detailed step-by-step protocols for both lateral and crestal approaches are presented, with clear indications for each technique. Long-term case presentations spanning 10-20+ years highlight the enduring success of proper bone grafting techniques. The curriculum also explores advanced growth factor applications - including L-PRF, PRGF, PRP, rhPDGF, and rhBMP-2 - for enhanced healing and implant site development.

Special emphasis is placed on risk management and handling of complex bone grafting cases, including those involving thickened membranes, polyps, and mucous retention cysts.  Participants will gain through instruction on recognizing, managing, and treating intraoperative complications, as well as early and late postoperative challenges. Through a powerful combination of scientific foundations and real-world applications, this course enables clinicians to approach complex bone grafting procedures with increased confidence, accuracy, and clinical success.

What Attendees Are Saying

So for me, it's great to learn from an experienced clinician like Dr. Pikos, not only to learn from his cool evidence-based techniques that he's sharing with us, but also with the things that over years have not worked for him. For me, that's very valuable because now we can learn from those experiences, those years of experience and I don't have to repeat the same mistake. If you want to bring good knowledge back to your patients, it's worth the time.

Alaine Auguste, General Dentist

I've been wanting to take, because course for quite a while now, I've been a follower of his work, read his textbook cover to cover a bunch of his publications and that's how I really knew that he was the guy come to for sinus lifting. Nobody really is doing it like he is. Definitely recommend this course.

Sean Lan, General Dentist

First time coming to the Pikos Institute. Beautiful course. Very well organized, excellent facility. Material wise, it's I think, one of the best, very happy that I attended the course. It's a hands-on course and also some theory with it. You get the chance to ask questions to discuss some cases with Dr. Pikos himself, which is a great opportunity. Overall, I think it's a five-star course.
