Dr. Andrey Trokhalin, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon
PhD, Associate Professor
Dr. Andrey Trokhalin began his surgical practice in 2013 at the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery at the Russian Center for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Ufa, Russia. There, he gained invaluable experience in the rehabilitation of patients with severe jaw atrophy, traumatic injuries, and those requiring surgical treatment for benign and malignant conditions of the maxilla and mandible. His work involved both reconstructive techniques and remote anchorage solutions, including zygomatic, pterygoid, and transnasal implants.
Dr. Trokhalin has completed numerous trainings and internships around the world, including in Italy, France, Portugal, Brazil, Sweden, and Switzerland.
In 2018, he earned his PhD in medicine, focusing on the rehabilitation of patients with mandibular defects following benign and malignant resections. He is the author of over 50 scientific publications.
In 2021, he relocated to Moscow, where he now leads the Stimulus Medical Center. His clinical focus includes immediate loading protocols and various methods of full-arch rehabilitation. In addition to his work at the clinic, he performs orthognathic surgeries in the head and neck surgery department of a hospital.
Dr. Trokhalin has studied under Professor Vanderlim, with whom he co-authored two publications on transnasal implants.
He is also the founder and lead instructor of Russia’s largest cadaver course on tilted implant placement (zygomatic, transnasal, pterygoid, transsinus). Each year, he conducts around 10 cadaver courses on extramaxillary implant placement, as well as procedures like lateralization and transposition of the inferior alveolar nerve. He also teaches clinical courses for dentists at his Moscow clinic.
Dr. Trokhalin is an Associate Professor at Bashkir State Medical University (Ufa, Russia) and lectures in the two-year advanced training program on remote anchorage solutions (zygomatic, pterygoid, transnasal) at the University of Brescia in Italy.
He is a regular speaker at international conferences in countries such as Russia, Italy, Brazil, Singapore, and the UAE.
In his private practice, Dr. Trokhalin specializes in full-arch rehabilitation for patients with severe jaw atrophy. To date, he has placed over 10,000 implants, including approximately 800 zygomatic implants, 1,500 pterygoid implants, and more than 1,500 full arches—making him one of Russia’s most experienced specialists in full-arch rehabilitation.
