Learning Objectives
Case Selection & Treatment Planning
- Diagnose and treatment plan full-arch cases, including: Radiographic interpretation (including CBCT), digital record-taking and facial scan integration, and pre-surgical planning (mockups, wax-ups, and surgical guide design).
- Apply prosthetic fundamentals to achieve predictable esthetics, function, and biomechanics.
- Differentiate between levels of alveolar atrophy (partially atrophic, moderately atrophic, fully edentulous, and severely resorbed ridges) and understand surgical and prosthetic implications for each condition.
Surgical Techniques & Live Patient Protocols
- Prepare patients for full-arch surgery: pre-op protocols, instrumentation, and workflow.
- Review IV sedation fundamentals for safe, relaxed surgical procedures.
- Master full-arch immediate-load implant surgery, including: flap reflection, soft tissue management, and bone reduction techniques; anatomical recognition: paranasal bones, remote fixation areas (e.g., pterygoids), and when to use them; osteotomy and implant placement techniques; and evidence-based protocols for achieving primary stability and immediate function.
- Alternative techniques (palatal approach, trans-sinus, and subnasal protocols) and an introduction to zygomatic implants—when to use and when to avoid.
- Develop an algorithm for managing soft bone situations (how to recognize soft bone, adjust the surgical plan, and respond step-by-step in real-time).
Prosthetic Concepts and Immediate Loading
- Understand monolithic zirconia: proper design, vertical/horizontal dimensions.
- Select and position multi-unit abutments for long-term prosthetic success.
- Immediate prosthetic protocols (analog, digital, and hybrid workflows) and fast chairside conversion using NeoConvert techniques.
- Address implant depth, abutment height, and bone reduction to optimize prosthetic fit.
- Biomechanical considerations (implant design, placement strategies, and angulation for full-arch cases).
Practice Integration
- Learn how to reduce chair time and increase efficiency and profitability.
- Gain the confidence to implement these protocols immediately upon returning to your practice.
- Discuss ethical and cultural considerations in live patient settings, including informed consent, international patient care, and safety protocols.
